My best friend's son, Jason, is building a new house close to a cornfield. It's almost finished and they are planning on moving within a month or so. A few weeks ago, out of the cornfield came two little kittens meowing for food. One is black and the other is gray.

Jason and his wife, Robyn, have two daughters, ages 8 and 6. When they saw the kittens, they went crazy playing with them, petting and feeding them. After a while, they had to return to their old home and leave the kittens behind. Jason's daughters cried to take them home. So now they have been taking food for the kittens everytime they go to the new house. And the kittens have always been waiting there at the new house for them. Jason figures that they must have been dumped in the cornfield because there aren't any houses around.

Since Iowa October nights are too cold for little kittens to spend the nights in, Jason and family have put the kittens in the new house with food, water and a litter box. They've been in the house for about a week now and are getting along just fine. They are checked on at least once a day, since their new house is close to their present house.

The kitties are happy and the girls are happy to be moving to a new house complete with kitties.
