Well, in the past I had a shower-head-with-hose and would enclose my cat in the shower stall and did a quick and thorough wash/rinse. It seemed the best and least-traumatizing... but my cat was not happy until it was over. The enclosure just calmed her slightly because she figured out she could claw or climb out.

Another friend as a cat that absolutely loves bathing. Hops into her tub when she's in the bath. Now I think that's unusual.
