Hi Elizabeth,

Chances are that Robert has tapeworms, which come from swallowing fleas. Do the worms kind of look like grains of rice?

Cats are very smart and it is difficult to "trick" them into taking medication in some kind of treat. You can either take Robert back into the vet and have them give the pill for you or they can give him an injection instead. Or you can try wrapping Robert in a towel so he can't wiggle and try to get him to swallow the pill by putting it as far back in the mouth as you can, then giving it a little poke.

You should also treat all your animals for fleas, but please don't use any over-the-counter products. They can be dangerous, or even fatal, to cats.

Regards,
PHKitkat
