I no longer have any cats, not allowed, but I grew up with them all of my life. I have 2 particular stories. Have you ever heard of this? My brother had a cat when we were young named Mattzee. Mattzee earned herself the nickname Squirrel Kitty as she would steal nuts we set outside for the squirrels. She would even sit up on her hind legs, holding the peanut between her front paws, and open and eat the nuts inside, just like a squirrel. We would even find her building "nests" in the house out of leaves. It was rather cute to observe her carrying large clumps of leaves in the house with her mouth, and arrange them into perfect piles in the corner of the room. Years later, we had another cat, again my brother's (maybe he was weird, his pets sure were) name Sassy. For the most part, Sassy was a normal, playful, sassy cat. Though one day I was sitting in the chair beside the window, Sassy was standing up with paws on the sill looking outside. All of a sudden I started hearing what sounded like a puppy barking. I look over, there is this cat, wagging it's tail and literally "barking" out the window. LOL. It was the funniest thing I had ever seen, but no one would believe me. Finally, my brother was in the room one, and sure enough, there is Sassy barking out the window and wagging her tail. I spoke to an animal expert at our local college and he said that while it not uncommon for animals to display character traits of other species, these were instances that he himself had not personally heard of. He did comment that it was pretty funny though. Just thought I'd share. Thanks for reading. [ Reply To This Message ] [ Subscribe to this Thread ] [ Show Entire Thread ] | ||
