I read on this board a year or two ago about a vet recommending combing the fur backwards, then to comb it frontwards to get out a lot more of the undercoat that has built up over the winter. Of my four cats, Samantha likes it the best. KatyKatt comes in second. She'll tolerate it for a while then when I get to the thick undercoat around her butt and legs, she'll start objecting. When she starts hissing and fighting it, Samantha will come over and arch her back up for me to comb her some more. heehee. She's so cute, she'll just roll over on her back, spread her legs apart so that I can do her belly too and be cleaning her face while I'm combing her, purring all the while. What a sweetie!

Simba sort of likes it as well. He's a bit impatient though and tires of it quickly. Katrina just takes off for parts unknown until the grooming session is over.

How do your cats react when you groom them?

How wonderful to do nothing and then rest afterwards. Meow!
