Even with a blurry picture, it reminds me of an infected claw wound. KitKat could describe it better, but sometimes a claw wound will close up, fester inside and finally burst outward with a mix of pus, dead tissue and granduar regrowth. I've seen one in a jowl break outward repeatedly, but that poor tom was untreated. Hmmm....didn't you ask your vet to look for a piece of claw stuck in the chin before?

Ask your vet about spider bites. We have brown recluse spiders here which cause the surrounding tissue to fester and die off. I doubt thats the cause here - the only time I saw one up close and personal, it swelled like a softball on a horse's neck, burst and the hole was about the size of a football. But maybe there is another type of spider local to your area? Something irritating but less venomous?

Also once had a foster kitty who was infested with a bot fly that was only known to infest cattle. My vet sent it off to the vet school at OSU. Could it be something unexpected?

Annie had a couple nasty feline acne spots, but they looked like typical zits on any 13 year old kid - nothing this ugly.

We're sending MEGA GLOWS you're way until the biopsy is done.

Purrs,
Elizabeth
