About this time last year I lost my beautiful Mr. Whitepaws to the dangers of the great outdoors. So when I adopted Webster the Wonder Cat from the local Humane Society, I was determined to keep him in. From his history I believe that in his previous home he was given free rein to go in/out anytime. Well, this boy is driving me nuts trying to get out! He sits at the door and yells. He follows me around the house and yells and nips at my legs (not enough to hurt, just to get my attention!) He climbs the screens. He is neutered, so it's not that. He just wants out.

I saw the post down-thread about the cat-fence and hope to build a fenced-in cat garden when I move to my new house but that won't be for several months. Right now I'm in a rental and there's no place safe for him to go (as I painfully learned last summer).

In the meantime, what can I do to convince him that it just ain't happening?
