Cats as comforters

It's amazing how cats know when someone is sick or depressed and needs comforting. Simba, my parents' cat who used to be mine, seems to have a sixth sense for things like that. When I went through a bad depression about ten years ago and could barely get out of bed, Simba would lay at the foot of the bed with me to try to cheer me up. Normally, he NEVER does that. He also lay in bed with my mom a few years ago when she went through a bad illness. Simba is usually a pretty aloof and independent kitty, so having him turn snuggly in a time of need was really unexpected. But very much appreciated.



Just thought I'd share some praise for Simba during what is his probable birth week, when he is turning 12 years old. How the time has flown by!!
