Later that evening after finishing an event we noticed it walking on the street - at 2 in the morning. It was a beautiful cat, was fixed and had a collar. We took him home and reported him to our local SPCA the following monday (this was a saturday). No one claimed this cat. My mom who visited us often, named him Newkee (instead of New Kitty!). Newkee has been living with us and has been doing very well. About a week ago, my husband was reading in a local paper under lost and found. There was an ad that says someone was missing their cat since last spring, it was grey with green eyes. We phoned her and told her we might have her cat. She started crying saying that it was a gift to her daughter 2 yrs ago and was best friends with their dog. She emailed us pictures and it looked like him. She said his name was Smokey. We called the cat by the name we had given him and he didn't even look at us. We called him Smokey and he looked at us. We phoned her and told her it was him! She again started crying. We drove Smokey back to his house and when he got in the door we put him down and he went downstairs where she kept his litter box. She broke down and hugged us both! She had called the SPCA but they didn't tell her about us. But anyway, she had her Smokey back after 8 months! [ Reply To This Message ] [ Subscribe to this Thread ] [ Hide Replies ]
