Please pray for my baby, Milagro. He is just now 1 year old and rec'd his breathing problem diagnosis in February. I had no idea how serious Congenital Laryngeal Paralysis is or just how very rare it is in cats. He has wheezed from birth. He was so tiny that he coudln't even be diagnosed (with a throat scope) unti lhe was 1 year old. 2 weeks ago he had a surgery called a "tie back" where they sew open his vocal cords to allow him to breath. Due to so many abnormalities in his surrounding structures the surgery was not sucessful and the alternative seems unthinkable (for him, not me), a permanent tracheostomy. What little I can find on this surgery and the original tie-back surgery is not promising either way for him, being feline and so young. He seems to struggle more now after his ti-back surgery and I pray scar tissue doesn't form to cut off his airway. At this point I am sorry I had the surgery done. At $3000 it seems I've made him worse! I feel so guilty and sick. Please pray that he gets a little better so he can make it on his own and live a decently long and happy life.
