This isn't exactly a behavior problem but I thought it was interesting enough to post. My notorious new kitty Poseidan has settled down an immense amount...much to my relief, a combination of Feliways and a new playmate.

However, as I think I may have mentioned before, I have a new dog as well. He loves the dog, playing with her, sleeping with her, following her about. He'll lay and groom her head while she's sleeping, and she seems to enjoy his attention.

But here's the interesting thing. I came in the living room from the kitchen and there he was, trying to nurse off the dog!

She didn't seem to mind, because he was kneading her stomach and...like she does during a belly scratch...her leg was just kicking away. I've since seen him do it two or three more times. Is this a case of being weaned too early? And I've heard of dogs who have no babies suddenly producing milk in similar situations...though Red is fixed, is she suddenly going to start lactating due to such stimulation?
