First of all do not approach the cat right now. Leave her totally alone. Hopefully your parents can feed her and also give her attention for a while. Above all avoid eye contact with her - she perceives that as a threat right now. If you can get a Comfort Zone plug in with Feliway this will help calm her.

She needs to learn to reassociate you with good things. If possible be in the same room with her, but be doing something else - reading, computer work, etc. Do not look at her, but pretend to be involved in whatever you're doing. Occasionaly gently toss a cat treat in her direction, but don't look at her to see if she eats it. Do this for about 15 minutes a day. It may take a week or more, but she will probably come back around.

If she still seems to be a bit hissy around you in two weeks or so, get your parents to talk to the vet about prescribing some sort of kitty antianxiety medication and continue to do the treat tossing. When she "feels" better because of the meds she will unlearn her bad impression of you. Then the meds can be gradually withdrawn.

Good luck! Let us know if your kitty decides you are OK again!

Smile, it will make them wonder what you are up to!
