I am new to being the fur-parent of a feline. I have alway had dog, because I was made to believe I was allergic to cats.
At any rate, I don't know if this is normal, and what to do about it....
My family consists of 2 humans, one 60 pound dog (Sammy) of 7 years, one 30 pound dog Mickey) of 9 months, and one 10 pound cat (Astro) of 11 years.
Astro has been attacking Mickey. At first it was only when Mickey would run by him, playing with Sammy. He never has attacked Sammy (good for him, because Sammy doesn't care for cats).
As of last night, Astro began biting poor Mickey's ears while he was trying to sleep. It wasn't a love bite, it was an attack!
I don't know what to do about it. Mickey was scared out of him little mind! I got Astro off him and tried to calm him down. As soon as he saw Mickey was afraid, he went right back in for the kill. (My husband thinks Astro has been watching too much Animal Planet).
Does anyone have an idea what to do? I have given him a physical exam, and he seems completely normal. Good (very good) appetite, all other functions are a go...
We adopted him from another family because he was doing this to their beloved chiuahuah, and I hated seeing him being abused because of it.
At first, everything was WONDERFUL, but now, it is changing so fast, I'm worried. If Astro turns on Sammy, well... that could be VERY bad. Thanks for any and all help you can offer.
