Can you close the door to the snake's room, especially when feeding the snake?

I don't know a lot about snakes, but I understand they sense vibrations but don't really hear. A shake can might be something you could use. You put a few pennys in a soda can and shake it when the cat approaches the snake's cage. Hopefully the noise generated by the shake can wouldn't bother the snake, but you would probably know about that more than I do! Marbles, put in some sort of container that would be tipped over easily, could help keep her off the cage too and might not disturb the snake either.

Good luck with your baby. Sorry about the scorpion in the bed. That is worse than the cockroach my cat brought me once. Ewwww!
