We have about a 5 year old calico that adopted our daughter. When we put the girl to bed, kitty likes to get in bed and tuck her in. Kitty even scolds the girl for staying up too late.

Once the human girl is settled in, kitty gets up and goes to mom and dad's(me) room, where she proceeds to find as many ways to make noise as possible. Knocking stuff over to test the gravity field, scratching at loose paper, excessive meows, etc. At one point awhile back, my wife resorted to "locking" her in the laudry room, which is also bathroom and dining for kitty. It's usually open.

So...what's weird is kitty will come in and bother us until we escort her down to the OPEN laudry room and..."tuck her in". She is very enthusiastic, running down to the room where we simply lay a towel on the dryer and shut the door.

Weird! Why? The room is ALWAYS available, but the thing insists to be escorted and shut in.

The small human has it's own room. And so do the two big humans. So does the master of the house HAVE to have it's own private room also? Why not just go down there and make itself at home on her own? We also have a routine that we put our duaghter to bed and tuck her in. Does the cat feel it HAS to be "tucked in" too?

Weird.

What do you think?
