I have an 11 week old kitten who I love very much but she hates being pet. A street kitty had given birth in the backyard of my Super and then the momma stopped feeding the litter around three weeks. I took one of the kittens and my Super's family kept one and gave away the others. She bottle fed just fine and has checked out fine with the vet. She hates any other animal (dog or cat) and will hiss and spit dancing around with ther tail all puffed up. The big thing is that if i pet her she get aggressive and then begins to play. I can rareley even get my hand on her because her little paw will come up and her mouth will open. She will batt at it and try to grab my hand to bite. She loves to play, (I'm working on getting her to just play with toys and not my hands) She also whines/meows when i pick her up. She gets very pissy and has bitten my lip a couple of times out of anger from being held, yet if I am carrying her somewhere outside she is fine. (she much prefers to be carried rather than ride in her carrier.) Is this something she may grow out of? or will she just be the kind of cat that doesn't like to be affectionate. She doesn't purr either. I love my kitty and she seems to coexist wonderfully, but i wonder if she would rather not have to deal with me at all.
