Some airlines do allow cats as carry-ons, but they differ in policy. Also if any passenger objects you will have to put the cat into the baggage area or not fly.

I am very concerned about your aunt's house, however. There is no way you cannot keep the cat outside when you get there - she will run away as soon as she is freed.

Could you leave the cat behind with a sitter or close friend to come visit her daily and then get her once you are settled? This would be the best option.
