It will take time, especially for cats that have been abused. They will grow to trust and love your girlfriend eventually, it can't be forced. Trust is earned and you can't blame them. Treat them well, ignore them and give them treats. The aggression is most likely due to stress and environment changes, and again, this will take time. Others gave the best advice on getting the one cat to use the litterbox and go through the "reintroduce" thing. I've just ordered the Bach's Rescue Remedy for my Bengal who tends to get a bit to wound up even after a year of introducing my kitten. I think he gets aggressive when he sees other cats and squirrels outside & then he marks places. I also continuously use the Feliway plug-ins. The refills are cheaper than the initial investment for the entire plug in. The Bengal has settled down some, but outside animals trigger the aggressiveness. Good luck. It will be worth it.
