Hey, I'm new here.
I have a question, I adopted a kitten last year and shes just over a year old now. She has never been very affectionate which I attribute to the fact that she was very young when she was seperated from her mother in the shelter. However, she would let us hold her for short amounts of time so we didn't think too much of it. A few months ago I moved in with my fiance and we introduced my cat to his over time, keeping them separated at first and then slowly bringing them together. Now everything seems ok. They mostly just ignore each other and there is only the occassional moment where one will chase the other. But ever since they met my kitten does not want to be touched by us at all. She still does all her usual antics like sitting near us whenever there is dairy around, and sleeping at out feet and stuff, she eats fine and is playful but if you try to pet her she attempts to scratch and bite. I have a feeling the move and new cat have just made her original anti social behaviors more pronounced. Is there any way to reverse it. I don't need her to be super cuddly but I'd like to pet her now and again without the fear of being bitten. I also don't want to feel like either of us should part with our cats to make the other one happier. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
~T.M.
