Hi all... I've read some great threads on here regarding cross-country traveling with your cat.
My scenario isn't much different - I'm traveling with Meka (diva cat) Soca (super-chihuahua/terrier mix) from Boston to Los Angeles.
My concerns: We'll most likely be driving 12-14 hours a day with rest stops along the way (when the truck only gets 6 mpg, stopping is a requirement), we're looking for pet-friendly hotels which I know there's an abundance...
I think my biggest concern is the cramped quarters. We're driving a 16-ft truck with an itty-bitty cab. I'm towing my car behind us...one thought I had was letting the two muffins rest/walk around in the car...then I freaked out & thought about the car coming unhitched, a sudden stop or worse, etc...so i put that thought out of my mind. However, in terms of the limited space, any suggestions?
Litter, food, water: How do you fit that into a carrier? How do you prevent spillage?
I think that's it for now...I would definitely appreciate feedback as I'll be moving on November 9th...
Thanks! Emelita
