I suspect that with Mokie gone, the cats are re-establishing their hierachy. Cats are tremendous creatures of habit and timing and have complex "schedules" of who should be where at what time. Something in their routine is missing and they are attempting to fill the hole, as it were. For instance it could have been Mokie's habit to sit on the sofa from 1:00 - 2:00. The other cats allowed this. Now no one is sitting on the sofa at that time, so the others may be trying to see who's going to get that space at that time. Of course then whoever gets the space at 1:00 gives up the space at his/her given time, creating another "hole" for them to figure out. Give them time and attention - they'll work out where they belong soon! -----
