Posted by: faerie822 at Mon Nov 6 17:51:24 2006 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by faerie822 ] my boyfriend & i adopted a stray about a month & a half ago. hes about a year old, neutered & declawed (not my idea, dont yell at me) & hes a sweetheart. it took him awhile to get used to being here, but hes pretty much settled in now. the only problem we have with him is when we go to bed he will scratch at the door. he has the run of the condo except for our room, & the only way weve found to keep him from scratching is to lay the vaccuum on its side in front of the door, which only works if he cant squeeze himself into a spot between the vaccuum & the door. he sounds like a heard of elephants when he scratches & it wakes us both up, so its kind of a problem. i figure its either because we left him, or because he doesnt like not being able to come & go as he pleases. weve carried him in there before just to get him used to the room, but inevitably he crawls under the bed so we have to crawl under it with him to get him back out. weve tried telling him no & patting him on the nose, but its not working. im going to get some no scratch or whatever its called whenever i find a store that sells it, but im getting tired of tripping over the vaccuum in the morning. any ideas what i could do in the mean time?
