This may be a lot of work, but you probably should remove the mattress and box spring. Then scrounge up an appliance carton or other large cardboard box and cut it to the exact size of your box spring. Put the cardboard on the frame then put the box spring back on and hopefully the cat will not be able to get through that.

Good luck! Maybe someone else will have a better idea!
