Hi Sheri,

Many plastics are made with fish oils so this behavior isn't as strange as it seems on the surface.

I have a serious plastic "addict" here also. Timothy will lick anything plastic......everything from the computer, trash cans, the shower curtain, and bags. You name it, if it is plastic he has licked it! This isn't usually a problem unless plastic is actually chewed and swallowed by a cat. Plastic in the cat's intestines can cause an intestinal obstruction, or even worse.

I try to keep all plastic that is chewable safely put away. Grocery bags go right into a drawer since they are Timothy's biggest addiction! He will also take plastic or cellophane out of the trash if he knows it is there so I have to bury it or take the trash out right away. He has also taught one of my other boys, Freddie, to go after plastic, too, so I have to keep Freddie in mind as well!

Regards,
PHKitkat
