Posted by: Kaseys412 at Fri Jan 15 06:25:19 2010 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by Kaseys412 ] I have a 10 month old female cat, Penny.. a week or two ago she went into her first heat (she's kept indoors and I was waiting for my tax refund to get her spayed lol). I could deal with the meowing and rolling and being obnoxious, but she started peeing on everything. Not spraying on horizontal surfaces, peeing. She peed on furniture, rugs, blankets, coats... and it smelled horrid. Not like notmal urine, this almost had a burning smell to it. I put some money aside and hed her spayed yesterday. The vet told me she may act like she's in heat for up to five days, until the hormones are out of her system... well sure enough, I bring her home last night, set her up in a bed near the litter... and sometime during the night she comes upstairs and pees on my bath mat! Is this most likely due to being in heat, or does this sound more like a urinary tract infection? She never did this before she went into heat, and now I can't seem to stop it... help..??
