He stretches and puts his front paws on my legs just to let me know that if I don't pick him up immediately, he will get his own way up-and the claws in the legs do not feel good. Once I get him up, he has to put his paws around my neck and I support his backside while he lays there and licks my neck. This is our normal routine in the morning while I am making coffee-supporting him with my left arm and making coffee with the right hand. He refuses to be cradled and when I am holding him, it must always be in an upright position with my neck readily available for "kitty kisses". Since he now weighs over 8 lbs, all that weight in one arm gets a little bit heavy, especially when he wants to sit up on my arm while I am holding him.
