Just like people, some cats enjoy being picked up and cuddled when young, but prefer to do it on their own terms in adulthood. Although Molly's methods have changed, it sounds as if she's still showing you quite a bit of affection. When she rubs against your legs, she's marking you as her own. And she certainly appears to be enjoying those headrubs! Give her an extra one from me today.
