I don't think that I have given many of my cats human names. I have 4 cats now and only one of them has a human name. But three of them were here before me. Out of the 4 one of them is my. Her name is Nipper. She was given that name because well she likes to nip. She doesn't bite you. I treat her like family. I talk to her as though she was a person. I mean I still feed her cat food. But I always share my food with her. She follows me everywhere. Even to the bathroom. She knows her name very well. If I call for her, or yell at her, she knows I'm talking to her even if she isn't looking. She will come over instantly and lay at my feet until I am done talking to her.
