I was wondering - I have maine coon who is 5 years old. She is totally attached to my husband. My husband is active duty Army and has spent some time away from us. It wasn't until he left for Korea that I found out how attached and the ATTITUDE Nittany had. She had become acustom to some things that just my husband did and he always paid her attention. Now my husband is not a "cat" person, he is mopre of a dog person but this cat has him wrapped around her paw. When he left in Sept 02 she slept on his pillow and took up his whole side of the bed. She expected me to pick her up and rub her belly etc.... I didnt know he was doing this stuff until after he left. She really missed him. He got extended in Korea and his 12 months went to 15. Nittany dealt well but when he came home to visit she was so happy and fell right back into the routine with him. When he had to leave again it was back to the bed hog and pillow hog. When he came home and we moved she of course went with us from Alaska to New York. He had to leave again for another 6 months. She missed him a lot. She slept on his clothse/shoes if I hadn't put them away. She would lay in his chair and of course back on the bed. Once he got home I get the cold shoulder from her. She always came when he called her but not to me. If I get out of bed she takes over my spot and I get a nasty look when I come back. Is this behavior normal for this breed or do I just have a very extra special cat? Are they normally one person cats?
