Actually you should be very flattered that the cat trusts you enough to allow you to be his "grooming" area. Although it is strange to us humans, this is a mark of great acceptance!

The food issue is also one of trust. He's just talking to you as you feed him - sort of a social thing more than a demand.

You are indeed loved by this Rex - but he is just showing it in his feline way.
