I have two cats, both Norwegian Forest Cats, now about 8 months old, one female and one male, none of them fixed. My daughter has a Persian, about 4 years old, fixed male.
My daughter is not living with me, but the coming fall she might have to for a few weeks while her bathroom is being renovated, and the question is - can she bring the cat. In her eyes he is a sweet darling, in my eyes he is a lazy Persian who bites randomly and has not a reliable temperament (toward humans). He has not seen another cat since he was a baby.

I have been baby sitting him a few times for weeks before I got my own cats, so he knows my apartment well, and I suppose his smell is still there. If he is brought here again, he might think this is his place.

So what do we do? Keep them in separate rooms for weeks, or do we try to let them get together? Or should he (the Persian) not stay here at all? I do not think my other daughter will have him, because he is not good with children.

Have any of you any experience with this kind of problem?

Johnny, Ronja and their person Anne
