It helps with healthy problems down the road. It will also make it easier on you. When she is going into heat she is going to try everything in her power to get outside. And the yowling is horrible. As for your friend's siamese. I would worry about him marking in my house. And if Lily goes into heat you will have some big problems. If she doesn't want to neuter him before he comes to your house, I don't think I would take him. It's hard to have two unaltered cats in a home.
