I think basically separating the cats for a while is the best way to start things off. During this separation you should also switch them around so that each has a chance to explore the other's "territory". Then you can try placing one cat in a carrier and letting the other cat sniff around - then reverse the roles. Joint feeding sessions are next - with widely separated dishes. Joint play sessions work well too. And don't forget the old "towel trick". You rub one cat with a towel then the other so you exchange scents.

Good luck!

>>My boyfriend and I have an 11 ear old kitty named April. She may be 11 years old but is healthy and still a very active cat. Now we would like to get a kitten and are wondering the best way to introduce the two of them. There is so much info out there that its mind boggling - what techniques have you guys tried that have worked?
