The black cat is probably not quite ready to face a playful kitten. Give him some time and separate him from the kitten a few days longer. Then let them meet gradually with a mutual feeding time and provide a play outlet for the kitten (you hold a wand or chase toy) for when the he gets rambunctious.

Given the fact that they got along fine before means they will probably do so again. I would be willing to be the black kitty just isn't quite fully recooperated yet!

>>I got a new bengal cat to hopefully be a buddy to my 4 year old, black cat, and things seemed to go well for about a month. They would run around wrestle and the whole bit. Then my 4 year old ended up with an upper respiratory or allergy didn't feel well for a couple of days. We did take him to the vet, etc. He is feeling better now but seems to be rejecting the kitten now. He really doesn't want to play with him . He was willing to lay and lick him until the kitten got too rambunctious. Then he hissed and ran away. Has anyone had this experience? We are bummed about this. Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated.

Smile, it will make them wonder what you are up to!
