This is a toughie. It seems like you know the ropes about introducing felines to each other. However, from your post I can't tell if you are going to the new cat's territory or if the cat is coming to you. This could make a big difference.

Since there is no way to predict what will happen, your best bet is to try the standard introduction techniques. If you go to "his" place it will be harder because you'll have to aquaint your cats with the new territory. If you keep his cat isolated and bring your cats one at a time to inspect the new place over the period of several weeks this might be better. Take your cat back home after about 15 minutes of sniffing around the new digs and reward it with whatever happens to be the "ultimate" cat treat. It does sound like you have some time so start now and go slowly!
