The other night my husband and I found a beautiful orange long hair cat outside our apartment. We live in Chicago, and this cat didn't have a tag..so it was obviously lost.

We took it home and brought to enclosed back porch where we fed it and over the course of the last few days have done the following.

-checked with a vet for a microchip - none
-found out he's been neutered
-vet said he seems to have been definitely a house cat
because he is sooo kind and affectionate.
-he was very thin, but neighbors said they have seen him for a couple weeks wondering around.

--So, we have made signs and posted on Craigslist, etc......

We also have a Cailico...who is the same age..
she is a total sweet but princess cat, whom in the past has had no tolerance for even the scent of another cat.

We have been spending time with the new cat, washing it, feeding it, petting it, on the back porch...when we walk in, she stares at us so fiercely...hisses, and cries, and is not eating as much as usual...She is Pissed!!!

If we can't find the owner of the lost cat, we would like to keep her. Of course after we get a full check up, as we understand it can't be introduced to our calico till then.

Is there something we should know about the Calico's personality and introducing new cats. It seems really severe. The other new cat is so chill and friendly... It's breaking my husbands heart to see the calico so upset.

Suggestions if we end up taking in the new cat?
