Thanks for replying.
It really may be too early to tell about the Buspar. I don't know what the effective time for it to reach an adequate level in the bloodstream for a cat would be. My girlfriend said it would take something like 2-3 weeks. It has been about 2 and a half so far with not a real noticable difference. If anything, the poor cat seems a bit angier these days.
We may have to confine him to the basement and I think that he would hate it. The ferrets probably wouldn't get too much freedom either, but at least he cannot claw them because he is declawed unfortunately.
Another idea was to confine him to a room with some food and a litter box and try to make him go in the box more to see if we could possibly retrain him, but I don't think his litter habits are really the problem, as I believe his actions are pretty much spraying.
It is sad that he is so unhappy and that our options are pretty limited. He wants all of our attention and any other cat that we pet he ends up hating, especially the other dominant male.
Thank you for replying though. I definately agree that we need to somehow work on his hapiness.
Mark
