hi there. we have 5 cats in the house now. recently had to have one put to sleep. anyways, we really like the feline pine. smells great and really helps with the odor. my frined tried it a few years ago and got us hooked on it. when my oldest cat was alive she would just make it into the box so i made sure to have the feline pine right there on that side of the box. it really helps with odor and it isn't dusty.
it is a bit stong first out of the bag. smelling like pine. we usually mix feline pine with fresh step. although i think i might try something else. that new stuff someone was talking about sounds great.
i did have a cat years ago that got allergies from a certain cat litter. it was one that was dusty. i don't remember the name but she would sneeze everytime after coming out of the box. also had watery eyes. you will just have to try and see what works for you and the new kitten.
i don't like the clumping formulas however. i've heard cats, esp kittens, can get intestinal blockage from them when they clean their feet off and injest it. i would not use something like that for a kitten.
i have never heard of the sweet scoop but i would definately recommend the feline pine.
