Hi there.. I'm sorry about your situation - it can be very frustrating!! Well, I'm not exactly sure what specifically changed his behavior, but this is what I did....

-I had him isolated in the bathroom (it took almost 2 weeks)
-I picked one litter to stick with (Arm & Hammer UN-scented) and added plain baking soda (for odor) and some powder that had Cat-Attract in it
-When he started pooping in the tub, I switched his feeding to the tub (you can always change where a cat eats, but it's harder to change the litterbox)... I also started leaving 2-3 bowls of dry food in the tub to try to deter him from pooping in there
-I had two litter boxes in the bathroom outside the tub... my bathroom looked ridiculous
-Finally, I got a covered Litterbox (against all other suggestions) and he took to it right away! Maybe he just needed some privacy? I don't know.

After one full week of going in the litterbox, I slowly re-introduced the two guys (don't know if you have any other cats, but if you do, there's a process to this... wiping their rear end with a clean sock and letting the other smell it, etc..) I put them together when I was there to supervise, but when I went to work - he went back to the bathroom for a few days. When they seemed to be fine together, I put both litter boxes just outside the bathroom door and kept the bathroom closed at all times. Right after all of this, I had 4 litterboxes in my apartment (for just 2 cats - crazy, I know, but it helped) and I was able to go down to 3 just a few weeks ago. And basically, I haven't had any accidents since!

Is your cat a kitten? boy or girl? any other cats? Well, I hope this helps and good luck!!!

Rachel
