Yes, yet another weirdo cat thing. My husband and I have two kittens (littermates) that would climb on us at night and "kiss" our lips.

Basically they just wanted attention and to get
as absolutely close to us as kittenly possible (like right under
your chin or in your hair). The behavior has eased up as they
have gotten older though they are still very demanding when it comes to affection.

My sister had a cat that would "wash" her hair every nite while she slept. She had a very short style ( ex-marine ) so when she woke in the morning it was standing straight up and stiff as a board.

They say when a cat licks you it is the ultimate compliment. I guess attempting to make out with you is even more so.
