My 3 - almost 4 - year old cat does this constantly!!! Over food, even the water fountain that we have for them. He'll cover for several minutes at a time.

It's REALLY getting annoying to a point of my husband and I wondering if there is anything that can be done about it.

Is there any way to curb this behavior?
