I have read where it is really a pre-disposed thing about whether or not cats are sensitive to catnip. Frankly, I really have never had a cat who has really cared much, although one of my female cats went on a pee spree when confronted with fresh nip. Needless to say, fresh catnip was not an attraction at our house anymore.

The reaction is genetic, and it can vary. If your cat is not attracted to catnip, then you have more than likely gotten a cat who doesn't have the genes for it.

And now if you can explain why my dog ate a catnip mouse we are in business.

Smile, it will make them wonder what you are up to!
