My Sam has been fine in my condo (and prior one, too), and they are not large. I adopted Sam at 1/2 yr, 10 years ago!, and he was used to being outdoors.

He's still doing fine indoors, and does fine with me gone during the days - makes him miss me cuz he comes to greet me when I come home. I keep the place untidy just for him to have new things to explore (that's my story and I'm sticking to it).
