If we come along and pet him, he stops, but if one of our other cats comes over to see what he's doing, he meows like he's really aggravated about it. He will knead and suck on the blanket and try to drag it around the living room while meowing loudly. I don't know why they do things like this, but I've found that just petting him and talking to him gently is enough of a distraction to get him to stop this somewhat disturbing behavior.
