I am not sure, but the kittens will instintively suckle if they are hungry so if they are rooting on "dry wells" they will nurse on the mom to get enough milk. However, the bonding issue may be a problem if "grandma" keeps interferring. Naturally she'll need visiting time though! Just try to keep a determined grandmother from her grandbabies!
