Posted by: d_ray_ca at Fri Apr 28 10:17:24 2006 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by d_ray_ca ] I have two cats. One is 9 months and one is 2 years. Recently, when I am at work, one or both of them, has started scratching the front door and carpet in front of it. It is almost like they are trying to escape. It has gotten so bad that they have ripped up the carpet and taken wood off the door. They only do it when I am not home. They have never destructively scratched anything before and both use a scratching post. I have tried spraying the area with repellent as well as taping tin foil over the area, as I heard that cats hate the noise. Nothing has helped and I am wondering if anyone else has any suggestions or has experienced the same problem.
