I think this is something you should discuss with your vet. It may be nothing, but it also may be a symptom of something they need to look at. My two cats will be 15 shortly and neither has ever "coughed" that I know of. I wouldn't worry overmuch since it is infrequent, but I would absolutely check it out with the vet since it isn't something cats do often. There may be a simple explanation or something they can cure. ----- Tammy
