Please check with your vet. I didn't list the possibilities in my first e-mail to you so as not to alarm you, but PHKitKat is right -- it can be a sign of something serious. I've heard it tied to heart disease. It is not common for a cat to cough and since this is infrequent, it may well be early and very curable (anything from allergies to heart problems). Please get her checked out -- even if she is acting normal otherwise. It may be a simple treatment now, but if you let it go, it may become serious and worse. You won't know until you get her checked -- folks can only speculate on a board -- a vet needs to actually see her to let you know what is going on.
