About a month ago we adopted a 2-year old male cat who is neutered. He was a stray and then taken in by the local humane society, where we adopted him.
Today for the first time, instead of kneading while lying down on his side (he has a bed with a raised, soft circular rim), he crouched over the plush rim on the bed, straddling it with his hind legs, and moved around it in a semi circle, back and forth, kneading with all four paws. What was weird is that his body was in the position as if he were going to defecate - sort of hunched over. I was worried at first that he had worms and was dragging his bottom around, but I could tell after a few minutes that wasn't the case.
He didn't seem out of sorts in any other way- just calmly pushing himself back and forth around the tubular plush part. This is very weird!! It seems reminiscent of some other posts, but if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it. (BTW, he recently had a vet exam and is in perfect health except for a little dermatitis on his neck.)
