I brush Gonzo's teeth daily because he has Stomatitis. Luckily he enjoys it a lot because he is a 22 pound Maine Coon.

I buy the poultry flavored tooth paste from the Vet and he attacks the toothbrush licking it off before I even get it in his mouth.

He purrs the whole time and licks the brush while I am brushing. I use a childs toothbrush and I give him lots of cuddles and pets before the toothbrush even goes in his mouth. There is no struggling or pinning him down. He just sits there.

I tried the dental treats and the dental chews but he is such a pig he just swallows them whole, which defeats the purpose.

I need to talk to my vet so see if maybe big doggy chews might be an alternative for him because of him swallowing small things so fast.

Good luck,
Julie
